I was so excited to read Sweet Valley Confidential but then when I went to add it to Goodreads I saw the average rating was 2.37. Yikes. Maybe it doesn't bode well for my hopes for a future The Babysitter's Club reunion book.
Library:
Sweet Valley Confidential by Francine Pascal
Pretty Little Liars by Sara Shephard
For Review:
The Destiny of Violet & Luke by Jessica Sorensen
Elizabeth Is Missing by Emma Healey
Taut by J.A. Huss
Mr. Virile and the Girl Next Door by Gwen Hayes
The Things You Kiss Goodbye by Leslie Connor
Shadow Love by Anne Stuart
The Secrets of Lily Graves by Sarah Strohmeyer
Nice haul, Heather! I can't wait to read Taut. I hated Ford when he first showed up in Rook and Ronin, but somehow, he managed to get me to change my mind. I hope you'll enjoy all your new books.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend, and happy reading.
Here's my StS post for this week.
Wow, it's been a while since I've seen the Sweet Valley books around. I used to love them! Enjoy :-)
ReplyDeleteOoh nice! Those are all new to me but I hope you enjoy them all!
ReplyDeleteMy STS will be up tomorrow, so be sure to stop by then!
Have a GREAT day!

Read The Destiny of V&L already, but I didn’t really enjoy it. The middle part was good, made me laugh and all, but it was too NYT Bestseller formula for my taste. I do want to read Mr. Virile and the Girl Next Door by Gwen Hayes though--G. Hayes has original ideas and I kind of adore the girl/boy next door romances :) Hope you enjoy your new pretties :)

Ohh I saw a few of those galleys on Edelweiss but I decided to get the other HarperCollins ones instead, and didn't want to download too many :P
ReplyDeleteI might get The Secrets of Lily Graves in a few weeks, though.
Great haul :)
My haul
Great haul! The Secrets of Lily Graves looks like a really great read, I was tempted to download that one myself. The Things You Kiss Goodbye looks like a sweet read too. I hope you enjoy all of your books :) My STS.
ReplyDeleteSweet Valley High-the memories. I liked them when I was younger. Going to get more Harper Titles when I catch up with what I already have. Great stack.

ReplyDeleteMy Week in Books
I can't remember which book in the PLL series that I left off on. But I really want to start back up with it. Great haul!
ReplyDeleteThey sound pretty aaawesome. A 2.3 rating on Goodreads is pretty tough though. Ouch. I hope you like. Happy reading. :) My StS!

I used to love the Sweet Valley series(es) when I was younger. Actually, one of my favorite reads growing up was The Class Trip. Now I kind of want to reread it! Enjoy all your new books :)

Things you kiss sounds good, hope you enjoy!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great roundup of titles! Pretty Little Liars looks like a cute book. I was never into SVH books, much preferring to read heavier novels when I was young :) I hope you enjoy it, despite the GR rating :) WRITE ON!
ReplyDeleteAs a long-time fan of all things "Sweet Valley", especially SVH, I was extremely disappointed in SVC. How did you end up feeling about it when you read it?
ReplyDeleteIt was a DNF =( I was shocked that she decided to go in the direction she did. The characters were awful and the plot unbelievable. She should've wrote a campy and fun book to appeal to the audiences who obviously picked up the novel for nostalgia reasons
