Well, that was different! This was a novella-length story
about a robot who wants to earn the right to love. I liked the concept behind
the story, but because of the length, I never felt fully connected to Coral or
Quinn.
Coral was a unique robotic character. She’s very curious and
innocent, but also very blunt about her feelings regarding sex. Her only
teacher is her promiscuous friend and she finds herself having conflicting
emotions while dealing with Quinn, a man who had part of his body rebuilt
because of injuries sustained during a war.
The futuristic world Coral is from was interesting as were
the royals. But the world building was very vague since most of the story dealt
with Coral’s sexual awakening. I think I just wanted more from the story.
However, for a quick read, it did keep my interest.
