Excerpt:
Delia and my mom had matching expressions as they gazed at me: profound disappointment. They looked at me as if I was the villain—and not the man five feet away from where I stood who had stolen everything from Autumn.
I needed to run. I needed to run away from them all. I felt myself falling back into old behaviors that I had worked hard to overcome. I was letting Thomas win again. Again, he was making me feel all of those dark feelings that had been pushed away when Autumn had come into my life. I couldn’t be the broken fatherless boy again that needed salvation.

Without a second’s hesitation, I ran away from my family. They screamed out to me, but I couldn’t face them. They wanted too many things from me. They wanted me to be their son, their brother, their hero. But I couldn’t be who they wanted any longer because I couldn’t be those things with Autumn by my side.

Book Release Updates and Finding Autumn Teaser

Hope everyone is having a fantastic summer so far! I've been crazy busy with my boys being off from school and trying to fit in editing for Finding Autumn (Falling for Autumn 1.5). The good news is the release is still on track and the book will be available as an ebook and paperback on July 15!

My next projects will be the standalone Pretending Hearts (Falling for Autumn #2/Delia's novel) and the Second Sight spinoff Deadly Prophecy (Declan's point of view). I've written a portion of each and I hope to have the first draft of Pretending Hearts completed by the end of summer and Declan's book finished soon after. Once there both completed, I'm going to write the two Memory Witch sequels back to back. Wow, I'm feeling exhausted just talking about my plan.

Hope you all enjoy Blake's book! It was really fun to write Falling for Autumn from his point of view and share what happens to him and Autumn following the end of the book. Enjoy the teaser :)

Thanks to Mayhem Cover Creations for the amazing job they did on the cover! I love it =) And below is a sneak peak of Finding Autumn!

Unedited Excerpt:

I had thought the night had turned around and was improving, but I understood it wasn’t to be as I returned to the table from the Valley Amusement’s bathroom. Autumn had pulled me out of my funk as soon as we arrived at the bowling alley. Touching her and kissing her was exactly what I needed to chase away all of the other dark feelings. Autumn Dorey absolutely and positively consumed my entire being.

Kissing her did funny things to me. It made me hope for things—things that I probably had no business hoping for. It made me want to come up with outlandish schemes to stay forever inside this bubble I had created for us.

Walking up and seeing Autumn surrounded by three guys had me seeing red immediately. She may not have been mine for good, but she was mine for the moment—and no one was taking her from me without a fight. Moving closer, I was able to make out the discomfort on Autumn’s face and it made me want to hit first and ask questions later.

“What’s going on?”

Autumn gave me a stricken look and I wondered what was going on with her and these three jackasses. They looked like complete tools—tall and skinny with almost a matching uniform of jeans hanging off their asses and Abercrombie t-shirts.

One of the douches came up behind me and slapped my back as if we were old friends. Before he even opened his mouth, I was ready to end him. “Is Autumn your girl? No judgment here, dude. We’ve all been there, done that.”

“I’d watch what you say next. Because unless I hear an apology to Autumn, your teeth will end up on the floor.”

It didn't take me long to put it together that Autumn went to high school with the three losers. I didn’t know the guys, but I knew their type. There were always the big talkers in the locker room who liked to brag about how much “tail” they got. Most of us knew the truth—the only action they were getting involved stealing a bottle of their mom’s lotion and turning on Cinemax after midnight.

The tall blond faced me and he puffed up like a peacock. It was an intimidation tactic and I almost rolled my eyes. If he thought I was backing down, he was out of his mind.

“I’m not sure what you know about Autumn, but I’ve known her for a long time. I was her boyfriend and the bitch fucked around on me the entire time we were together…”

Fuck me, I thought. No wonder Autumn’s parents were overprotective. The guy had crazy eyes and by the way he spoke, he sounded like he was still bitter over their breakup.

“If you’re her ex, then you definitely deserve at least a punch in the face.”

Works in Progress Updates and Deadly Prophecy (Second Sight Spinoff) Book Teaser

Here are my current works in progress:
Finding Autumn (In Edits)-Release Scheduled for July
Pretending Hearts (Falling for Autumn #2) (In Progress)
Deadly Prophecy (Second Sight Spinoff) (1/4 Complete-In Progress)
The Memory Witch 2 (In Progress)
I'm not going to post official release dates for the rest of the books since I still have a large chunk of them to write. I will give you a teaser though (unedited) of Declan's spin-off book. This will have spoilers if you haven't read the final Second Sight book.

Before he could ask Kate her opinion on the case, she shoved him hard. His back slammed into the brick siding of the restaurant. He glared down at her as she twisted her lips into a hateful expression. “What the hell was that?”
“What are you talking about?” He held up his hands in front of his body. “I told you what she wanted. Not every case is going to be about someone missing.”
“That’s not what I’m talking about and you know it. You’ve been a bastard since yesterday and just embarrassed me in front of a client.”
“You’re the one who kicked me and made a scene. I was joking with you, it’s how we always are.” Kate opened her mouth to retort, but he rallied on. “I don’t know why you’re so sensitive about getting married to Jared. Maybe it’s a mental problem. Have you talked to your mom about it? Maybe your parents’ divorce has given you commitment issues.”
“Or maybe you’re just a dick. Yes, we always rag on each other, but this was different. You called me fat and made fun of my ring.”
“You act like such a girl sometimes. I always tease you about how much you eat and your relationship with Jared. Stop being so uptight.”
“We’ve been friends for a while now and I know you, Dec. I know when you’re messing with me and when something else is going on. You’re not happy about the engagement.”
“Christ Kate, leave it alone. My life doesn’t revolve around you and your convoluted love life. I said I’m happy for you. What else do you want? Should I throw a parade in your honor? Offer to give you away at the wedding?”
Kate took an uncertain step away from him. “No. I thought you would be my friend and Jared’s friend. I thought you would be a decent human being and realize I’m finally happy after almost losing Jared. I can’t change what happened between me and you, but if you can’t deal with it, then maybe we should reconsider a partnership.”
Declan stared over her head into the parking lot. “We’re good. I swear. Maybe my jokes were tasteless, but I didn’t mean anything by then. We make a good team and it would be stupid to walk away from what we started to build together.”
Kate stared at him for a long moment, apparently weighing whether to accept his half-hearted apology or walk away for good. “Fine, but our business needs ground rules.”
“What kind of rules?”
“For one, no sleeping with the clients.” Declan’s jaw dropped as Kate continued on. “Don’t give me that look. I saw the way you were looking at Jenna and picturing her with no clothes on. We can’t have you scorning women who have come to us for help.”
Declan thought it was a stupid rule, but his relationship with Kate was shaky at the minute. He would give her this to appease her. Making their business a success was more important than sleeping with the clients.
“Fine. My rule is to stop hitting me. If we’re working together, I can’t be worried about your violent urges.”
Kate rolled her eyes. “What can I say? You bring out the worse in me.”

Teaser Tuesday: Finding Autumn (Falling for Autumn #1.5)

Finding Autumn is coming along and I expect the novella to be released in July. Finding Autumn will be Blake's POV of Falling for Autumn. It will also include bonus chapters taking place after the final pages of the book. Below is an unedited excerpt BUT proceed with caution. MAJOR SPOILERS if you have yet to read Falling for Autumn.

“Were you crying?”
She swiped her hands across her face before narrowing her eyes. “Yes, and my tolerance for your bullshit is at an all time low tonight. I don’t know how you got the idea that I’ve given you an open invitation to come to my dorm room whenever you like. It’s rude to me and my roommate.”
“Do you want to tell me why you’re crying?”
“No.”
She didn’t have to say it because I already knew. She had found out about Thomas’s release. As I looked at her, stared at this beautiful girl crying, a dark rage built inside of me. I hated my stepfather—hated that he had done something so horrible to someone who was so impossibly good. I had been a fool to believe my stepdad’s version and I could admit it to myself now. Autumn was never a liar. She had trusted Thomas in the same way I had and paid the price for her kindness.
“Do you want me to leave?”
Please say no, I silently begged as an innate need arose inside my core to help her. I may not have broken her, but I had to shoulder some responsibility for her pain. I’d been one of her accusers—believing the worst instead of facing the truth. Loving someone evil was a small burden compared to what she’d faced.
A hiccupped sob escaped her lips and I could see the way she was trying to keep it all in. In the past two years, how many times had she been forced to hold back her emotions? She had been vilified despite the fact she was the victim. She needed to know my truth—but not tonight. Tonight, she needed a friend.

Falling for Autumn Announcement and Kindle Giveaway for May

Falling for Autumn has been doing amazing and I can’t thank you all enough for the support! Many of you have been with me on my journey since the beginning and have become friends since that time. If you ever need anything, for real let me know (I do draw the line at kidney donation though). Anyway, onto the announcement and giveaway.

Since Falling for Autumn’s release, one of the most frequently asked questions has been: What was going on in Blake’s head? (or sometimes: What the f*ck was Blake thinking?) I anticipated this reaction and had already started on Blake’s novella: Finding Autumn!

Although most of Finding Autumn will take place during the same timeframe of Falling for Autumn, the final third occurs after the conclusion of the novel. Without giving anything away, I think it would be understandable to expect some drama headed Autumn and Blake’s way.

Another announcement is Delia’s book (Blake’s sister). Again, I can’t say much without spoilers, but if you read Falling for Autumn, you could easily guess how difficult things would be for her. Her novel will take place during her freshman year at Cook University. Autumn and Blake will also play a part in her book.

May will be Kindle giveaway month! If you already own a Kindle, no worries. You’ll just win a gift card of equal value. Enter below =) There will be another giveaway mid-month as part of my blog tour through The Book Enthusiast. I’ll be sharing the schedule closer to the start date.
