Dark Premonitions is now available for sale on Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble and Smashwords. The eBooks copies are live now and I expect the paperbacks to be available through Amazon.com by the weekend. Dark Premonitions takes place a month after the events in New Revelations:

Psychic Kate Edwards had her first premonition—a vision of her own murder by a faceless attacker. With very few clues to go on, she has to use her psychic gifts to uncover who wants her dead. Paranoia sets in and Kate wonders if there’s anybody she can trust.

As Kate fears her impending death, she’s desperate to seek comfort with her ex-boyfriend Jared Corbett. HUGE Announcement and Teaser Tuesday for Second Sight Book Three

As promised, I'll be posting another teaser for Second Sight Book Three. But, first I have VERY exciting news to share. I've accepted an offer through Crescent Moon Press to publish my NaNoWriMo book The Memory Witch! I am beyond excited to be working with them, they have an amazing group of writers and staff. I've had a great experience self-publishing my Second Sight series, but I'm ready to focus more time on writing instead of the editing, cover art and formatting that goes into a book when you do everything on your own. Here's an unedited version of another scene from the third Second Sight book. In this scene, Declan and Kate are discussing possible suspects over who wants to kill her.

“Maybe it’s someone from one of the cases you’ve worked. You foiled their plans and now they’re out for blood.”

Kate was chilled by the sentiment. “They’re in jail now. But I guess it’s possible for them to hire someone…”

“If not them, maybe it’s someone you know.” Declan paused, as he seemed to mull over potential murder suspects. “Hey, how mad was Jared after you told him you kissed me? Maybe he’s the one who wants to off you.”

She became a little annoyed that Declan could be so flippant about her murder. “With that same sentiment, it could be you that wants me dead. Your thinking may be that if you can’t have me, nobody can.”

He laughed a little too hard for her liking. “Kate, it was a great kiss, but it was barely a blip on my radar. I’m way too good-looking to be pining over some girl.”

“Well, if it isn’t you and I’m one hundred percent certain Jared would never hurt me, who else?”

“You know what we need…a detective. Do we know anyone like that?” he asked sarcastically. “Oh right, you were dating one. It wouldn’t make any sense at all to ask him to help figure out who wants you dead.”

Teaser Tuesday: Second Sight Book Three

Here's a sneak peek of a scene from the third book in the Second Sight series. The set-up for the scene is that Kate is on her way to Maine with Jared for Thanksgiving with his Aunt Lizzie. Kate is hoping she'll win Jared back during the trip while also dealing with the possibility of someone wanting to kill her. Keep in mind that the scene hasn't yet been edited ;)

Kate cleared her throat. “Jared, do you think you could teach me how to fight?”

“Why? Were you watching Million Dollar Baby on cable again?”

“No. If I’m going to throw myself in the middle of these investigations, I probably should learn how to protect myself. When they make a movie about my life one day, I don’t want to be portrayed as one of the too stupid to live girls.”

“Too stupid to live girls?”

“Yeah, you know…the ones with big boobs that end up investigating a chain saw sound in the basement and end up hacked to pieces within the first five minutes of the movie,” she elaborated. Jared’s eyes roamed to her chest. She socked him in the arm. “I will hurt you if you make a joke about my boobs.”

“Hey, I didn’t say a word. I’ve always liked your boobs.”

“Anyway,” she said pointedly trying to ignore the heat that flooded her face, “I want to be the girl who survives to the end because she fights back.”

“Of course, I’ll teach you how to fight, Kate. We’re staying until Sunday so we’ll spar in between our runs.”

“Our runs?” she gulped.

“I run every morning. I figured you’d join me,” he said with a shrug.

Oh lordy, toughening up was going to be a lot of work, she realized. “Alright, I’m in. I think I packed a pair of sweats and sneakers.”

“Wow, did you get hit on the head? I’ve never thought I would see the day I could get you to workout with me.”

“Well, you know what they say…evolve or die.”

Second Sight Book Three FAQs

Today, I thought I’d talk about Second Sight Book Three. Readers had a few questions about it and I have shared my answers below. Now, if you haven’t read New Revelations, BEWARE, there will be spoilers in this post.

When will the next book be released?

My hope is to release Second Sight Book Three in March. It would be awesome if it works out to be March 7 (my birthday!). I’m working as quickly as I can because I know cliffhangers can drive readers crazy (hopefully in a good way). There will be a total of four books in the series and possibly a prequel novella.

I HATE Declan. Will he ruin everything between Jared and Kate?

Declan has inspired a special kind of hatred it seems. I’m actually planning a character interview post where he responds to all of his hate mail. Declan will be in the next book, but Kate ends up working on a new missing persons case without his help.

Are Jared and Kate really over?

Not if Kate has any say in it. In the first half of the third book, Kate invites herself to tag along with Jared while he visits his aunt in Maine. This part is enjoyable to write because readers get to learn more about Jared and his family. There will also be a chapter told from Jared’s point of view.

Will we find out more about Kate’s future visions?

Kate turns a bit spastic after her vision at the end of last book. She becomes paranoid over who could want to kill her and tries to figure out how to protect herself from the fate she witnessed. The future vision puts a lot of things in perspective for Kate and it helps her continued growth through the next two books.
